Signs are simple, straightforward marketing materials that do wonders for your business in the long run. At some point, you will recognize the need for holders for your signs, whether on the reception desk, or along the office’s hallways, or what have you. Thankfully, there are a couple of ways you can do that.

There are, of course, pre-made sign holders that simply do the job without any sort of fuss. You just have to place it wherever you think a sign is suitable, either outside your office building or inside the work area. Sign holders are versatile, convenient, and eye-catching, making them truly excellent tools to reach out to your potential customers. On the flipside, however, if you prefer going the do-it-yourself route, it is important to know that you can easily create your own using some of the most basic supplies.

In the past, we have talked about the importance of knowing where your target audience is in terms of improving sales. This time, we will focus on one particular way to reach your consumers through your brand and/or logo. With that, here are some tips on how you can make your own sign holder.

How to Make a Sign Holder Using Wire Stands

We found a neat way to make sign holders from simple things that you can get at the garden store, and/or in your garage. Let us go over how to do those in full detail.

First thing is to make simple wire stands out of garden fencing that you can purchase at any home or lumber type store. This may be seasonal for some small local shops, but you can find them easily in those more popular big-box retailers. Considering it has multiple sections, know that you can make four to six sign holders out of one simple piece of garden fencing.

The main reason why we mainly use them for our DIY sign holders is that they are freestanding, so you can have them on a hard rubber mat surface, or out in the yard. If you are using grass or dirt, you can pin them or attach them down with a piece that we actually cut off as well. Having said that, let us go through the steps on how to make DIY sign holders.

Create a DIY Sign Holder by Following These Simple Steps

The first thing you have to do is to pry each piece off using a pair of wire cutters and pliers. So, ideally, you want to use or turn one garden fencing panel into one sign holder. You then have to use a pair of pliers to pull up the knot just a little bit, enough to slide a panel off and pull it apart.

Using the wire cutters, clip out the dangling pieces of wires on the side of each piece, so you end up with a nice and simple panel. Be sure to keep these pieces of wires, as they might come in handy if you are going to stick or hold in place your sign holders into dirt or grass.

After these, you must fold the top section of the garden fencing panel back to come up with your DIY sign holder’s base. Also, you want to bend it at an angle to effectively hold the sign up.

As for the bottom part of the garden fencing, all you have to do is—again—fold or curl them in such a way that you have sort of a stable clip for your signs. We can then put them in the pieces into the front so we can now take any sign and slide it right up under there. Make sure it is not obstructing the view of the sign but holding it in place for the most part.

Remember the pieces of wires we told you to keep? If it is windy, you can take these small little clips and you can just simply pinch it in the base. This is going to hold it in place firmly, preventing your DIY sign holder from blowing around too much.

Conclusion

You can make 20 to 30 of these easy-to-do stands in one go. In addition, they stack really well together and are easy to store.

All in all, whether you prefer going for pre-made sign holders or opting to do it yourself, the idea of using one for your business’ marketing campaign is a sure step in the right direction. These materials are not only relatively cheap, but they are also effective in such a way that they catch your customers’ attention right from the start.
