Digital marketing is in a constant state of evolution, and for a business to successfully market itself, it needs to keep up-to-date with the latest trends. We consulted digital marketing experts, and here are the top 9 digital marketing trends (not in order) that you need to consider;

Good Content Writing

Call me old-fashioned. But for me, content is still king in 2022. Blog content and Search Engine Optimization isn’t something new. But it has stood the test of time, whereas other forms of marketing haven’t. And that’s why it can’t be ignored in 2022 (and beyond!). You want to be seen as a thought leader and authority in your industry, and there’s no better way to do this than writing amazing content.

Visual Search

Users may now upload an image and acquire information about an object just by looking at it, rather than entering a description into Google. When they upload a plant photo, the search returns species information; however, when they upload a landmark photo, the search returns historical data. When a user searches for a product, it offers a list of similar products with links to where they may be purchased. Google Lens, Pinterest Lens, and other similar search tools transform a user’s camera into a search bar.

How might visual search benefit your company? Add high-quality images tagged with descriptive keywords to your online inventory, create an image search, and consider advertising on Pinterest (if your target demographic uses it). Advertisers who work with them benefit from improved search results.

Influencer Marketing

A lot of businesses have started using social media influencers for marketing. Businesses are jumping on this bandwagon because it works. Influencers already have a community, and so businesses are sure to get an audience.

Web Applications That Are Progressive (PWAS)

This is a relatively new digital marketing strategy, having begun in 2018 with huge organizations such as Twitter, The Financial Times, Flipkart, and Wikipedia, all of which have had tremendous success. This strategy may now become profitable for smaller enterprises as well in 2022. Having a mobile site — or, more precisely, a responsive site — can improve the user experience, but even then, hitches can occur.

And even a site that is barely responsive or difficult to browse will leave a bitter taste in a customer’s mouth, resulting in a squandered opportunity or perhaps a destroyed reputation. Consider this. Would you consider purchasing from a brand whose website appeared to be in disrepair or was slow to respond? Probably not. With the growing number of customers using mobile devices, Progressive Web Apps, which combine the benefits of browsing on a mobile browser and a mobile app, are gaining popularity.

Podcast Marketing

With services like Spotify making it more accessible to a wider audience, podcasts have been consistently gaining popularity in recent years. Podcasts have this unique ability to attract the relevant audience for your brand and keeping them loyal and interested for the next episode or so. Marketing towards podcast listeners and converting them into customers and clients most probably have a higher chance of success than relying on traditional marketing approaches.

Voice-Search

A huge digital marketing trend businesses should be focusing on this year is voiced search content. More and more people worldwide are using voice assistants such as Alexa and Siri, and this number is expected to increase. Because of this, marketers have to optimize their content for voice searches.

One way to do this is by writing a product description that can answer spoken questions. People use natural language when speaking, so make sure your copy adapts to this.

Chatbots

As marketing manager of a business, I consider Chatbots as the number 1 digital marketing trend of 2022. These Chatbots can interact with customers well, in real-time, and at any time of the day, even in past office hours. Chatbots, in my opinion, will be an important piece not only in marketing but also in customer service.

Personalization

One of the biggest digital marketing trends of 2022 is offering personalization to attract the consumer and promote brand loyalty. This can be through sending personalized discount codes to repeat consumers, showing recommendations based on their likes or behavior, or even reminding them of things in their cart or other alternative options.

Interactive Marketing

Another huge trend in digital marketing is interactive marketing. Because this requires the consumer to engage, it is a lot more attractive than a one-sided message. Some of the most popular interactive marketing include voting on polls, this or that on social media stories, using filters specific to the brand, or even competitions that require the consumer to answer a question, leave a comment or perform a challenge.
