MONTE VISTA, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado State trooper has been seriously injured in a single vehicle accident near Monte Vista in southern Colorado.

Colorado State Patrol spokesman Cpl. Eric Wynn says trooper Ryan Hafner was trying to find a suspected drunken driver when the accident happened late Saturday night.

Wynn says the trooper was airlifted to St. Anthony's Central in Denver where he was in stable condition Sunday night.

Hafner joined the force last January.
