PUEBLO - The 2010 MISS COLORADO USA® and MISS COLORADO TEEN USA® Pageants took place Sunday evening at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, Colorado. A capacity crowd filled the auditorium on Sunday evening for the pageant finals, where the panel of judges selected Jessica Hartman of Pueblo as MISS COLORADO USA® 2010, and Courtney Carter of Thornton as MISS COLORADO TEEN USA® 2010.
Jessica is a 2009 graduate of Pueblo County High School and is currently a freshman at CSU - Pueblo majoring in Mass Communications. She is the daughter of Gregg and Kris Hartman of Pueblo.
Both titleholders will now advance and compete next year at the MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® national pageants.
The competition, which is held annually in Greeley, consists of three proportional segments: evening gown, swimwear and interview. Eligible young women must be between the ages of 15 and 26 and be unmarried residents of Colorado in order to compete in the pageant.
Jessica and Courtney will each receive thousands of dollars in prizes and awards. Most importantly, they will have the opportunity to compete for the national titles of MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® this coming year. Jessica will compete for the title of MISS USA® 2008 on the live national telecast of MISS USA® on NBC this spring, and Courtney will compete for the title of MISS TEEN USA® 2008 at the national pageant next year.
In addition, the new MISS USA® will go on to represent the United States in the MISS UNIVERSE® competition, which is televised in over 130 countries worldwide.
The MISS UNIVERSE® and MISS USA® Pageants are a Donald J. Trump and NBC Universal partnership. The Miss Universe Organization also produces the MISS TEEN USA® Pageant. Utilizing its nationwide grass roots infrastructure, MUO is committed to increasing HIV/AIDS awareness and increasing awareness of breast and ovarian cancers.
