DENVER (AP) - Much of the eastern half of Interstate 70 is closed because of blowing snow.
The Colorado Department of Transportation says I-70 is closed from the eastern edge of the Denver metro area to Burlington near the Kansas border.
In northern Colorado, northbound Interstate 25 from Wellington to the Wyoming line is closed because of closures in Wyoming.
I-76 from Brighton to the Nebraska border is closed, and U.S. 36 is closed from Byers to Kansas.
Meanwhile Independence Pass near Aspen has officially been shut down for the winter, about a week before its regularly scheduled closure date.
