EL PASO COUNTY - Hodgen Road in Black Forest was in much better shape for rush hour Thursday morning, after Wednesday's winter storm made the road slippery and treacherous for driving.
Hodgen Road had scattered areas of light snow pack, slush and black ice. Still, a plow truck driver for El Paso County's Department of Transportation says the road is in much better condition and should continue to improve. A plow regularly worked on the road Thursday morning.
The county has 20 plows and trucks in service-- including 12 in Black Forest and Monument, four in the eastern section, and one in Chipita Park.
I-25 between North Academy Boulevard and Monument Hill was wet, and some sections still may be icy.
Remember to drive carefully and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination. NEWSCHANNEL 13 will track road conditions for you through the day.
