Three "Race to the Top" community meetings in Lamar, La Junta and Walsenburg are being postponed today due to winter weather and poor driving conditions.
The meeting in Limon this morning with Commissioner of Education Dwight D. Jones will proceed as planned. That meeting will be held at East Central BOCES, 820 2nd St. in Limon beginning at 8 a.m.
The meetings in Lamar, La Junta and Walsenburg will be rescheduled.
"Race to the Top" is a U.S. Department of Education discretionary grant program to states that make significant progress in achieving equity in teacher distribution, improve collection and use of data, enhance the quality of academic standards and assessments and support struggling schools.
