Associated Press - July 10, 2009 6:14 PM ET

SIMLA, Colo. (AP) - A pilot was killed in the crash of an aerobatic plane near Simla.

Elbert County Coroner Sandy Graeff says the victim was burned in the crash around 12:55 p.m. Thursday, and it could be Monday or Tuesday before the victim is positively identified. She says there was only one person on the plane.

Graeff says utility workers who were working on a power line saw the plane go down.

A sheriff's spokeswoman didn't immediately return a phone message Friday seeking more details.
